Zee Germans aren’t as fierce as they look like

Hi, greetings from Germany! Yes, VLC NEWS has become global and we’re making a strong effort to bring you the best contents, with top-notch quality, to your browsers, computers and smartphones. We’ve been for nearly a week now following every footstep of the new Valencia CF. And, though Sunday’s defeat in the friendly match against Karlsruher was dissapointing, there is lots of good stuff to say about the season that’s about to begin.

Speyer is a cozy town in South-West Germany that, for ten days, will see how the Valencia CF squad prepare themselves for a long, tough, demanding season. We are lucky enough to see them work, train, breathe, live and prepare for the difficult year ahead of them. Some players, such as Jonas, Banega or the newcomer Oriol Romeu -former Chelsea player on loan- have joined the stage in the last couple of days, but others like Valdez are leaving today, off to the exotic UAE team of Al-Jazira.

However, right now the fans couldn’t care less about the extensive training sessions and the dirty details that take place inside the squad’s hotel. Though they can read them in VLC NEWS, obviously. No, their primary concern is knowing if the team can compete or not. Unfortunately for them, they’ll have to wait until the game against Milan on July 27th, as none of the three friendly games that will take place in Germany will be broadcasted.

Our mission, when we decided to accept it, was trying to bring home every ounce of information via reports, articles, rants and, as our big novelty, web videos. And, while executing our detailed coverage, we’ve learned to respect and befriend our German colleagues inside the hotel and all-around Speyer, Yeah, maybe they’re too big-headed sometimes, have small room for flexibility and consider that improvisation is banned from this world. But they are extraordinariry helpful and frendly when you’re stuck in the mud. They will solve any problem you encounter. And, if not, they will surely find for you someone who can. As I said, ‘zee Germans’ aren’t as terrible as some people think.

Therefore, I hope you are able to join us virtually on the coverage that VLC NEWS has performed and will perform in the next days. Two more friendly matches are scheduled, against Mannheim tomorrow Wednesday and against Stuttgart next Saturday. Meanwhile, some little hints about this pre-season: the Canarian offensive midfield Jonathan Viera is absolutely on fire, both scoring ‘and’ assisting; Nelson Valdez leaves the club today, as I said earlier; Paco Alcacer is a promising, young scorer; newcomers Michel, Javi Fuego and Oriol are going to add a lot of strenght and quality to the team; and Jonas still has the magic touch when he plays. All in all, not a bad start for this season. Not bad at all.
